Baby Tori Summer

I thought now is a great time to share my birth story.

So baby #2 was completely different, when people say each pregnancy and each birth is different it’s so real.

So pregnancy wise it was night and day with Tori as compared to Frank. I was sick with Tori it felt like day one, with Frank I didn’t know I was pregnancy until I was 2 months. Mine you I knew I was pregnant with Tori at 4 weeks and with Frank 9 weeks so there’s that.

Tori was due 10/21/2024; which I thought was perfect Frank is 8/21/2021 and she would be 10/21. Anywho so my 38 week appointment we scheduled for an induction to start on Sunday 10/20 evening, perfect right. Now just background story I worked literally until the day she was born same with Frank.

Monday was my 39 week check up and I was like 1.5 cm dilated, not much at all, just the week before I was at a 1. So I started to move, taking walks daily and drinking red leaf tea.

Wednesday evening I started to “feel” things, lots of pressure. I had a meeting with my bosses boss and we were talking like okay any day now, my boss was out of town so I was holding on that last week. Thursday I can officially say contractions were here, thinking is was very basic possibly Braxton hicks. Just for some insight I was induced with Frank at 0 dilation so I had never felt contractions.

I made it through my workday and about the time Franklin got home from work I had him grab dinner, my whole pregnancy I loved loved hibachi. Anywho him and Frank sat to eat and I started to really feel contractions, far apart but really intense. I called my OB to give an update they advise me to continue to track the time between and how long the contractions last. If it got too uncomfortable to come in. So I decided to get into the bath and take a nice warm bath, that helps drastically. I wish I could sleep in the tub, the contractions were less painful.

But then as soon as I got out the tub to go lay down the pain came even more. I told Franklin it’s time I can’t do this any longer. So we make it to the hospital around 8:30pm and they start the processs I’m 6cm dilated, yep in labor. I of course ask for the drug so it won’t be too late. And then I was able to relax and get some sleep. Around 3a I get woken up by nurse checking on me and I’m at a 8. So I go back to sleep, fast forward check around 4a nurse said I was at 10 and said okay it’s getting close to time. She called Doctor on duty (Dr. Burt in Plano) he arrived and baby was delivered by 5:30a. She had ingest some meconium (ate her poop during delivery) so they had to suction her. It was so crazy, they really were working on her even more than they did with Frank.

I got to hold her, the sweet new baby. She wanted to nurse right away. Such a great baby, my sweet girl.

Did I say we went home the next day?! Born 5 in the morning on 10/18 and we were home by 1 in the afternoon on 10/19. Such a huge difference, but I love it here.
